you are aware, Air Traffic Controllers’ Guild (India) is organising a two-day,
Seminar titled ‘ATM - AIRPORTS - AIRLINES : INDIA INITIATIVES FOR
INFRASTRUCTURE’ at New Delhi on the 20th and 21st
high growth in GDP is forecasted for India. This in turn means a large demand
for commercial and business aircraft. A forecast puts this demand to the tune of
600 aircraft in commercial category of 20 to 149 seat fleet, over the coming
years. The forecast also predicts a very high demand in the business aircraft
In today’s era of competitive global environment, the demands on the aviation
sector, economic liberalisation and deregulation have forced the ATM providers,
Airport Operators and the Airlines to review their policies. A balanced approach
is needed for the sustainable growth of this industry. Equipment and systems
introduced over the years have helped improve efficiency and contributed to a
sound and safe ATM system. The flexibility and adaptability of the key elements
of aviation shall have the ability to grow with continually evolving procedures,
changing technical systems, and social and environmental constraints. This event
is aimed at highlighting the initiatives being taken on infrastructure front and
the future need thereof.
Guild (India) seminar is
now an annual feature. All of us have to give our best to make it a grand success.
Considering the potential our members, I have no doubt
about it. Wherever you are, please think of contributing in the best way
‘conceptually, professionally, financially and morally’. I would solicit
interaction through emails, unless it is an urgent issue which can be discussed over phones.
