Inadequate Contingency measures at Kolkata

The Contingency Plan to deal with the exigent situation and to maintain provision of Air Traffic Services over Indian skies is crumbling and may collapse at any time at Kolkata.

Air Traffic Controllers who are working in the ATC units for provision of Air Traffic Services since morning have not been provided with even the basic needs like food and drinking water, thereby making them medically unsafe to provide ATS.

Also, the security has collapsed at Ground Floor of the ATS building forcing the ATC Briefing Officer to shift from Ground floor to Sixth floor.
It is apprehended that the agitators will enter Air Traffic Service Units breaking the security barrier which is thin and is not sufficient.

The Guild requests you to take note of these developments and to ensure that the basic needs and security of Air Traffic Controllers are provided for so as to facilitate provision of safe Air Traffic Services. In the absence of this, Air Traffic Services may not be sustainable.
